Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct mix of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe, as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta the place she was raised is Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church where she sang and played piano. She was a student at Spellman College and began to study the R&B style of Atlanta. The very first song to feature her vocals was Stalk You, a Japanese house 12; since then it was remixed and has become a component of her set. Additionally, she was a part of The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. She took on the role of primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the stage production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was recognized nationally for her daily shows during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
