Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She was also a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers the basics of cooking that any person can master. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine traditions and landscape. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. Following her graduation with an English and Communication diploma from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable learning experience for me. The Culinary Institute of America was a great place to study. Following graduation from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions throughout her time in Italy and this has affected her style of cooking. Burrell is a well-known ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids who have challenges. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor Burrell travels throughout the U.S. to share her love for cooking and career. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am very fortunate to share what I love most to others.
